"Hypnosis is a state of mind in which the critical faculty of the human is bypassed, and selective thinking is established." - David Elman, Father of Contemporary Hypnosis

The use of hypnosis as a therapeutic tool has been documented for over two hundred years. It is a natural state of mind that everyone enters several times each day. Have you ever wondered how you missed your exit on the turnpike or where you were when someone asked an important question? You were experiencing an altered state of consciousness not unlike hypnosis.

Anyone can enter hypnosis easily providing they have the desire and the freedom from fears and misconceptions about how the process works.

Hypnosis creates a deeply relaxed physical state and also induces a heightened state of mental awareness. You hear and respond to everything and are an active participant in the experience, communicating what you sense and feel to your therapist. You have control over the choices you make and will reject any uncomfortable suggestions.

The subconscious mind is like a computer and responds to what is allowed into it. You are what the programming in your subconscious mind perceives you to be. If your subconscious perceives you as a smoker, you smoke. If it views you as shy, you become reclusive. By using hypnosis, you are able to access this subconscious computer and reprogram thoughts about yourself.

Any suggestions contrary to your belief systems - moral or religious - will result in a spontaneous and immediate state of complete consciousness. You cannot be kept in hypnosis against your will. Hypnosis has had documented use for over two hundred years, and in that time there has not been a single case of anyone that has been hurt through its use.

Hypnosis has many benefits. It is a way for you to take control of your life, instead of life controlling you. There is no magic to achieving success with self-hypnosis. Almost anyone who chooses to can reach deep relaxation and redirected focus.

Your hypnosis session will be a very pleasant, relaxing experience. The session will consist of four parts.

First, your hypnotherapist will discuss your goal or problem and advise you of the therapy that will most rapidly achieve the desired results. any question will be answered at that time. If you are completely comfortable with the idea of hypnosis and feel you have established a positive relationship with your hypnotherapist, the session will begin.

You will be calmly and peacefully guided into a very deep state of physical and mental relaxation. However, you will always be aware of everything going on around you. Once you have achieved this relaxed state, suggestions to achieve the desired change will be given to your powerful subconscious. These suggestions will enter your subconscious and become a part of you. The unwanted negative programming will be removed. This will allow you the freedom to achieve your goals and eliminate problems.

You will then be slowly and carefully brought back to an ordinary state of consciousness. This will be done with reinforcing statements of total well-being.

The final part of the session consists of a brief discussion of the experience and your thoughts about it. You may at that time set a date and time for a future session.
